g) Other or expanded principles:
I am a proponent of small government. I know that if we will cut spending in government then we will lower your tax burden thereby growing your wealth.
The Constitution Party's official platform is to follow the Constitution when it comes to taxation (i.e. Article I Section 8) and eliminate a federal income tax. We support a tariff based revenue system supplemented by excise taxes and state-rate taxes. When it comes to state taxes, the property tax is unconstitutional and needs to be eliminated. All other taxes can be decreased as the government becomes smaller and less burdensome.

No d) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
Yes e) Should a minor who sends sexually-explicit or nude photos by cell phone face criminal charges?
No f) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
I am a proponent of medical marijuana. I am an opponent of federal amnesty for illegal immigrants in this nation and state. As your next Governor, I would secure the borders of Tennessee.
Yes a) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector?
No b) Do you support increased state funding for job-training programs that re-train displaced workers?
No c) Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits?
No d) Do you support providing financial incentives to the private sector for the purpose of job creation?
No e) Do you support government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No f) Do you support providing direct financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure?
No g) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage?
I am a proponent of free market economics which has a motto, laissez-faire or leave it alone. The government has no place in the market. The only regulations that need to be made are upon the government and politicians. Let's reduce the size and power of all government entities and we will take away the incentives of business to buy our politicians through lobbying efforts.
No a) Do you support the national Common Core State Standards initiative?
No b) Do you support a merit pay system for teachers?
No c) Is the tenure process for public school teachers producing effective teachers?
Yes d) Should parents be allowed to use vouchers to send their children to any school?
No e) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
No f) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid?
No g) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Tennessee high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
Common Core is destructive to our students, our teachers, and our parents. It complicates learning instead of simplifying it. It is a system that takes away initiative and individual thinking; it creates a robotic student who is only equipped for certain skills. I do support an incentives program for public school teachers.
No a) Do you support state funding for the development of alternative energy?
No b) Do you support state funding for the development of traditional domestic energy sources (e.g. coal, natural gas, oil)?
No c) Do you support state funding for improvements to Tennessee's energy infrastructure?
No d) Do you support state funding for open space preservation?
No e) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
While I believe that alternative energy is important, I do not believe that government entities will be responsible with taxpayer money in these endeavors. I would encourage private industry to explore these energy alternatives and be a part of making Tennessee the leader in the world in alternative energy.
No a) Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
No b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes c) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns?
No d) Should a license be required for gun possession?
I am a proponent of Constitutional carry and as your next Governor will work hard to add Tennessee to the growing list of states who have this law.
No a) Do you support a universally-accessible, publicly-administered health insurance option?
Yes b) Do you support expanding access to health care through commercial health insurance reform?
No c) Do you support interstate health insurance compacts?
No d) Do you support Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act?
No e) Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance?
Yes f) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits?
Yes g) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes?
I do believe that our healthcare system needs to be reformed at both the state and federal levels. Unfortunately, Obamacare failed to do that and we need to repeal that Act.
No a) Do you support same-sex marriage?
No b) Should same-sex couples be allowed to form civil unions?
No c) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Tennessee's anti-discrimination laws?
No d) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Tennessee's anti-discrimination laws?
I believe that government needs to get out of the business of who should be married or not married. It is none of the government's business. Let the Church decide these matters, not the government.
1) Get Common Core out of our public schools in Tennessee and begin the process of healing our educationally wounded students and teachers. 2) Pass Constitutional carry in Tennessee and allow every citizen in this state their 2nd Amendment rights. 3) Reduce the State of Tennessee's dependency on federal government funding and return the power of our state back to the People.
